Pleasant climate

There are about 320 sunny days a year, a moderately hot summer, between 30 and 35 degrees, and a warm winter, during which the temperature will not fall below 16oC. The sea on the Costa Blanca is comfortable for swimming all year round, in summer the water warms up to 27 oC, and in winter it keeps cheerful 16. The climate on the coast is recognized by the World Health Organization as the most favourable, and many cities of Costa Blanca have health resorts. Here are some of the most advanced medical centres in Europe, and many restaurants in Costa Blanca have Michelin stars, proving professionalism of the chefs and the quality of the dishes. For example, Denia, one of the most attractive towns of the coast, was awarded the title of Creative Gastronomic City of UNESCO. More information about Denia, its climate and famous restaurants, can be found in the article: Denia: Are you still looking for your place on the Mediterranean coast?

The best properties

Costa Blanca presents to you ‘calidad de vida’ - the famous Spanish quality of life! Therefore, more than 100 thousand people from Germany, Great Britain, Canada and other countries around the world live here. Annually about 20 thousand foreigners fall in love with the "white shore" and end up buying an apartment on the Costa Blanca. They love this coast not only for the record number of beaches in Spain and the pleasant climate, but also for reasonable prices and fresh products. People are increasingly interested in owning a summer house on the Costa Blanca due to their amazing views.

Healthy food can be delicious

Another reason to settle on the Costa Blanca is the Mediterranean cuisine and thousands of restaurants: with Michelin stars, pleasant customer service, excellent food and reasonable prices. Mediterranean cuisine, hand in hand with mild climate, helps improve health and longevity; life expectancy in Spain is 82 years, and the risk of obesity and heart disease is less by 18%. Traditional Spanish cuisine is not only the famous paella, cooked differently in each town, but a lot of other tasty dishes from fresh seafood: shrimp, octopus, squid and so on.

Not all roads go to Rome

Another feature of the Costa Blanca is a centuries old history. Even 3000 years before our era there were sites of ancient Iberians, and during the reign of the Romans, the province of Alicante met its dawn – started to grow vineyards and olive trees. In the 11th century, Spaniards themselves fought for these lands: The Kingdom of Castile and the Kingdom of Aragon. Several dozen different nations have walked along these sandy beaches over the centuries: Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Visigoths, Moors. And now the beaches have become a home for several hundred nationalities from all around the world. This is the Costa Blanca's wonderful feature - to unite!

Main cities

Costa Blanca cities are divided in two provinces: province of Alicante- in the south and province of Valencia- in the north, the centres of both provinces are two large resort towns. Valencia is the cultural centre of Costa Blanca and the third largest city in Spain. There are many theatres, museums, historical places and cosy restaurants here. The city will surprise you with unusual architecture and new technological development. Valencia is called the city of the future. There are many apartments for rent in Valencia; they are ideal to enjoy the city as locals do.

Alicante is the second largest city of the Costa Blanca, called the friendliest city in Spain, founded by the Romans, as a secure trading port. The main attraction of the city is the medieval fortress "Santa Barbara". If you want to take a tour through the medieval castles of the Costa Blanca, Alicante is an ideal starting point! Some owners of villas in Alicante have the privilege of enjoying the views of the fortress “Santa Barbara” from the windows in their houses. Information about the castles Byar, Atalayla and Sax are covered in the article: Costa Blanca Castle Route: Medieval Spain!

Celebrations on the coast

Spanish are people who love and know how to celebrate, therefore the festivals and celebrations on the Costa Blanca are held often. Festivals, carnivals, racing in the streets with bulls and vegetable battles.  Here you can witness a real medieval parade - the Moors and Christian’s festival in honour of the liberation of the Spanish coast from the Arabs. Residents of Costa Blanca very thoroughly prepare for the celebrations. What amazing costumes, embroidered with precious stones and inspired by medieval fashion.

How to get there?

You will be pleased with the excellent quality of roads, the accessibility of all resort towns and two international airports: Alicante airport is 20 minutes’ drive from the Alicante city, and Valencia Manises airport is 15 minutes’ drive from Valencia. Getting to both capitals of provinces Valencia and Alicante for shopping and entertainment from smaller resort towns, like Denia, is easy.
