A small and lovely town located at the Costa Blanca that hides a huge cultural heritage...

On the warm coast of Spain, it is a small and cozy town that was a hometown for many artists of the eighteenth century. Spanish Crown’s artists settled there as a colony until the end of the War of the Spanish Succession. They decorated cobbled paths and the stairs of Altea with bright drawings. Since then more than five hundred years have passed, but the creative atmosphere is still there. Everything here is reminiscent of those magical fairy tales told to us during our childhood.

Altea’s architecture is made to delight the eye: small houses, narrow alleyways, colourful pictures and decorations. A promenade full of small restaurants and cafes on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and a charming craft market. Here you disconnect from the bustle of the 21st century. All the things which are important in big cities, here are perceived differently. Enjoy the calmness. It’s always interesting to consider investing in real estate in Altea. It’s a joyful and peaceful location that invites home owners and resters to take a break from the busy life that the big cities offer.

Altea’s beaches are definitely something to mention. Most of them are pebble beaches and have crystal clear waters. Beaches in the centre of Altea  are mixed: pebble and sand.. Most of the beaches have sunbeds, umbrellas and lifeguard service, but you can also find almost wild natural beaches and bays. The water in the summer months can easily exceed 27 degrees and in winter the maximum falls to 16 degrees. Renting a beach house in Altea for the summer months is definitely a good idea!

At night Altea becomes another world. In summer the warm sun downs and the temperature descends to more or less 20 degrees, leaving a feeling of freshness and lightness at the same time. The night offers a plenty of plans: dinners at charming restaurants, theatre plays, art galleries, classical music concerts, street music and dance performances.

At midnight boats leave the dock for night walks by the sea. Each store in the city is illuminated with colored lamps, posters, flowers and strange figures. In the town squares you will mostly find couples and children, some dance, others laugh, others walk or sit in the cafes enjoying the atmosphere. The habitual residents of Altea, who walk during the day with simple summer clothes, look lovely at night. Few people know, but Altea is considered the most bohemian town on the Costa Blanca.
