If you have never visited or even heard of Moraira, you might just never come upon it. Although people are more driven towards more touristic places like Benidorm or Alicante, when you discover Moraira's beauty and peaceful atmosphere, you may find yourself staying longer than you thought. Moraira is very clean, quiet even during its most populated and bustling summer season, very warm and comfortable. One of the most prestigious restaurants is Restaurante Kosta, and is home to the best made bream dishes in all of the Costa Blanca. They cook it with potatoes and stuff with orange, artichokes and capers. Olive oil and special herbs only know by a selected few are used to give it that extra taste.

The Charm of Owning A Property in Moraira

Moraira covers a large area that includes both hilltops and cliffs bordering the coast. Neighbouring the town is Mount Guadalest, upon which you may find a medieval landmark: an old fort that used to be a lighthouse. Moraira's geographical location gives you some spectacular landscapes to comfortably play this sport. The local festivities that take place in Moraira funnily enough have a tight relationship with nature. In January for example, throughout three days the "Sant Antoni" festival takes place, during which people "parade" their animals around, that are later on to be blessed. Later on in the year - in April -  Carnaval takes place in Moraira, along with the traditional "entierro de la sardina" (meaning Sardine Burial). This tradition has a funny story to its name. It is held in the memory of a celebration organized by a spanish king, but however did not go as it was originally planned. Legend has it that the king ordered live fish for the celebration of carnival, but the fish died before they reached the table. So, the citizens held a funeral for the fish. Festivities are always a big surprise, and all the citizens tend to get together and share joy and happiness.

Moraira is chosen year after year by many europeans as a destination to spend their holidays, to purchase a second home or to even search for a new one. This is not a surprise, who could refuse to live in such a calm, welcoming place set in the Mediterranean, speckled with picturesc bronze statues spread out through the city, complete with an old fort upon the mountain top, that contrast with beautiful beaches and extense golf courses.
